My Dear Brethren,

Although it hardly seems possible, ready or not, 2008 is here!

GFF had a great deal to be thankful for in 2007, but that year is now over. The blessings (and problems) of 2007 are now history, and we must move on.

We thank the Lord for the new missionary families that came into GFF in 2007, and we look forward to more families ("singles" also!) this year. As I have mentioned before, we need help in several fields where missionaries are serving alone. This last year saw some help on the way, although of course we would always like more.

As I grow older, more and more I am convinced that nothing and I mean NOTHING (worthwhile) is ever accomplished without prevailing, biblical prayer. What was done this past twelve months was done as the direct result of prayer. Personally, I was disappointed by the little that I was able to do (due to the very serious illness of my wife, Ruth, as well as my own health issues). By God's Grace I want to do MUCH more in 2008, although again health may be an issue (I am having knee surgery this month, and Ruth is still far from well). While I am no longer young, God is able! Pray for a much more effective General Director, please.

Our fiscal (financial) year is not over until March 31, but we thank the Lord that He has met all of our needs (including, as you may remember, a new roof). We would love to offer more services - a prayer letter service for instance - but we cannot at this point. It is not simply a matter of money; we do not have the personnel (or space) to do such a thing. Also needed are more video presentations and other things which we cannot do in-house due (primarily) to limitations of personnel. If the LORD enables, we would like to do a number of things. Please pray specifically for gifted people; I am confident that if the Lord supplies the people, He will also supply the other needs.

2008 is going to be a great year, I am convinced. It may be that the Lord will come, and we praise Him for that! If not, by the Grace of God we intend to be fruitful, occupying until He comes. Please continue in prayer for us.
