Dear Praying Brethren,
Last month I made two promises, which I must keep. Allow me to introduce you to Charlie and Bo(nita) Frink. They are our newest serving missionaries, veterans of service in New Zealand, and with GFF as of July 1, 2008. The Frink family has three children: one married daughter, a son in college and Abigail still at home with them. We appreciate your prayers for them as they transition from another ministry to GFF.
What do you know about New Zealand? I had to confess that I knew almost nothing. New Zealand is a small island, southeast of Australia, with four million people and almost no Gospel. Primarily it is European, although there is a 14% indigenous population (Maori). Unfortunately it is much like Europe in that there is very little interest in the things of the Lord, church attendance, or even basic morality. The need is great there, and we need to pray for the Frink family; also pray that we/they can recruit some workers to help them! The Frinks will be in the United States for some time to make the necessary adjustments, see their supporting churches, and to recruit. Look for them on our website shortly.
The second promise is to bring you up to date on my wife, Ruth (Busch). Ruth's visit to Johns Hopkins was excellent; she is showing no change in her condition. The disease has not advanced, for which we thank the Lord and His people for their prayers.
On a lighter note, David Torres, son of Peter and Charo Torres was married this last month. The Lord willing, David is intending to return to school this fall, and looking forward to missionary service. Peter and Charo continue prefield ministry, and we solicit your prayers for them. Also continuing on prefield ministry are Nathan and Karen Frizzell. Summer tends to be a slower time for this ministry; I am sure that all of these couples would very much appreciate your prayers.
Probably this next sentence should be in the French language, but I will spare you. Jared Stevenson is involved this summer in a seven-week intensive French language course at an Institution of higher learning. He is without his family; please pray for him.
For the Missionaries,
Bruce P. Busch
