My Dear Brethren,

Although my knee replacement surgery was scheduled for July 27, as of this writing I am 'still here.' The insurance companies would call it an "Act of God" (the hospital air conditioners went out) and in this case they are right. What the schedule will turn out to be, only God knows. For now, all of us need to move on to do the work of the Lord!

An area of grave concern in the world has been the continent of Europe. I have been praying for revival in Europe for some time; it is now reported that there is twenty-two percent unemployment in Spain, which is our largest missionary concentration in Europe. That statistic is amazing; if it is true; the only thing that we might know that would rival such a figure in the United States would be the Great Depression of the 1930's. Other countries in Europe have major problems as well.

We sympathize greatly with those in need, wherever they are. A greater need however is in the area of the soul. The Psalmist said that it was good for him to be afflicted, that he might learn [God's] statutes (Ps 119.71). Does God allow nations to be afflicted to change their ways? Certainly this was the case for Nineveh, and it could very well be the situation for our western so-called 'Christian' nations as well - we simply do not know. Speculation is useless; we cannot know God's mind. The Lord is fully capable of bringing His will to pass in Europe, whatever those plans may be. It is simply our part to pray and work as diligently as possible. I continue to pray for revival in Europe; without revival I wonder if there is hope on that continent!

One area that I am always delighted to report on is new missionaries (sort of)! On July 11 at 3:52 PM (local time in France), Cadyn Mark Stevenson made his first appearance into the world. He is the second son to Jared and Rebekah Stevenson. The Stevensons have two other children: a son Bryce, and a daughter Rosalyn. As soon as the family is able to organize it, they will be moving to the other side of Paris to begin a different ministry. Our congratulations go out to the Stevensons! It has been a busy year for them, and there is still much to be done.

We value your prayers and support more than you know. Praise the Lord for all of YOU.

For the Missionaries,
