Dear Prayer Warriors,

Do you ever get the feeling that time is compressed? As I am out ‘on the road’, I have that feeling sometimes. Days blend into days, weeks into weeks, and so it goes. As I indicated in last month’s letter, we are really busy this time of the year – but not too busy to pray, I trust.

Forget the economy. That statement may seem ridiculous to many. However, whatever the world is doing is nothing to be compared to what the LORD is doing. Some of the Lord’s last words to Moses were this: “the eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms” (Deut 33.27). Again, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Ps 46.1). The world matters, but the Lord much, much more.

We are very thankful to see progress among our missionaries in the United States. Nathan and Karen Frizzell are excited by their recent travels on prefield ministry, and praying much that Nathan can quit his secular job. Their desire is ministry, not money.  Jared and Rebekah Stevenson are looking forward to the end of their prefield ministry, and on to France – however, they still need a bit of support.  Pray that they may finish this course with joy. AND, Peter and Charo Torres are thankful for a more complete schedule of meetings; please pray that it continues.  Progress is being made on a lot of fronts, and we are very thankful for it. In this space (Lord willing) we will have more to say about progress next month as well!

Probably the best news outside the United States has been the rising dollar. Gasoline is over $9.00 a gallon in Spain, a fact that the Campos, Kenney, and Pinyol families know all too well. All three of these families either have (or want) vans to transport people to their services, and the vans cost more to run.

Let us not forget to pray for those in the United States in administrative capacities as well. I think not only of ourselves (Bruce and Ruth), but equally Ted and Sandy Ball. The Ball family has had some health challenges, and I am happy to report that they are making real progress. Many of you know about Dave Claar, who has also faced a major challenge with his health; pray for him and Jane, who want to return to South Africa. There is absolutely NO shortage of items to pray for: we simply must do it!

For the cause of Christ,

Bruce P. Busch
General Director
