Dear Praying Brethren,
Although I was hesitant to report the ‘accident’ that Nathan and Karen Frizzell had this last month (see the September letter), I am not hesitant to report this: they are getting back ‘on the trail’ again. It is obvious that you prayed; not only did the Lord give them a different house trailer (and a repaired Suburban), but also He sold their house in Vermont for them during this time! That had been a very large request for them, as they needed to be free from their mortgage. Praise the Lord for answered prayer.
Answered prayer has certainly been in evidence for both the Myers and Shipe families. In this past month, I have seen both of these families, and they are doing well. Rodney and Lynn Myers have been staying in the office apartment for a few weeks, so we have seen more of them. They are doing very well, and we will be sorry to see them go – once they leave here, we will probably not see them again before they return to Tanzania in February 2010. We will continue to pray for them, as we know that you will also.
Aaron and Nicole Shipe (and their six children) are doing well, also. As some of you may know (and we are learning), traveling with six children poses some challenges. The family has done very well with that however. With the economy, some could argue that now is NOT the time to be involved in prefield ministry; however the lost condition of man has not changed! People need the Lord as much as they ever did; that condition is not going to change. Certainly some of God’s people have had economic difficulties, but God is faithful through all of it. We thank the Lord for His Faithfulness, as well as the faithfulness of the overwhelming majority of God’s people!
Peter and Rosa Pinyol have returned to Spain, and are doing well (although having problems with internet, we understand). This morning news reached us that the country of Spain is having 17.9% unemployment (yes, seventeen and nine-tenths per cent), and some of the believers there are struggling. Predictions are that the situation may deteriorate even further; we need to pray for that situation. I (Bruce) have been praying for some time that the Lord would do something special to ‘open up the continent’ for evangelism – Europe has been extraordinarily resistant to the Gospel for at least a generation. Certainly we need to pray for the believers there, and continue to pray for evangelism in those countries as well. We are so thankful that God answers prayer!
