Dear Praying Brethren,
As I write this, it is a beautiful fall day in Pennsylvania - no snow, but cool. I have just returned from the Midwest, where it is snowing in some places. After serving in Africa for many years, I love the change in seasons, which the Lord has graciously given us.
I also love to do what I am going to do: introduce Nathan and Karen Frizzell, and their four children, Kathryn, Caleb, Sarah, and Jessica. They have been appointed to the field of South Africa, working in the Capetown area. Remember to pray for the Frizzell family.
The Lord willing, Dave and Jane Claar will soon be finished with their stateside ministry (Dave is our southern representative) and able also to go to South Africa. It is a volatile country, but it is also the 'economic engine' for Africa. While there has been some work among the white population there, very little has been done for blacks, Indians, or the various mixed races there. Because of their economic prowess, South Africa has the greatest potential for exporting missionaries of anyplace on the continent. Pray for both the Claar and the Frizzell families; they need it desperately!
None of this would be possible, of course, without the work of our Lord. Often I have asked myself 'how thankful are you, Bruce?' The truth is that our Lord came, the just dying for the unjust, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order that WE (unworthy though we are) might be brought to God. Is there anything, any price, any sacrifice that is not worthy of this? Is it ever possible that WE could somehow repay the Lord for what He has done? I don't know how. ALL THAT WE CAN DO is to give him our lives, our every waking moment… and your missionaries, by the Grace of God, have done that. Thanksgiving in that sense takes on a new meaning… we owe it ALL to Him who died for us.
At GFF, we also owe a big thank you to all of you who have so faithfully supported this ministry. Thank you so very much. We wish you a wonderful thanksgiving, and a blessed time in the Lord.
Thankfully,
Bruce P. Busch
