Dear Praying Brethren,

I know what some of you are thinking … the holiday season is almost upon us.  Many, many things that have to be done!  That is true, but it is November, and we have much to thank the Lord for.  MUCH, in every way.

We are particularly thankful for new missionaries, David and Debbie Nunemaker, who have been ministering in France for some years. Although they have been church-planters, these days most of their ministry is with immigrant people groups from Southeast Asia (which groups will remain unnamed here).  Although American, David was born in French-speaking Africa, and is a native French speaker; Debbie is also quite skilled.  A further description will be available on our website at www.gffministries.com.

The Gospel Furthering Fellowship does not exist ‘by accident.’  Almost seventy-five years ago, the Mission was started by sincere servants of God who were concerned for reaching the interior of Kenya -- where Christ had not been named. We are still vitally concerned about reaching into areas where the Gospel has not gone. In numerical terms, the largest concentrations of peoples without the Gospel would be in Asia.  In terms of difficulty, among the most difficult peoples in the world to reach would be Europeans; many western European societies really are ‘post-Christian.’  They had the Gospel many years ago, but have (as societies) turned away from it.  Such societies need to be reached as well, but it is an arduous task.  There is a world to be won for Christ, and we are convinced that The Gospel Furthering Fellowship was brought into existence to help in reaching that world. Ultimately the Lord does the work; we are very thankful (and quite humbled) when He uses us!

Since the Lord has used us, we are encouraged to keep on in the hope and desire that He will use us more.  Several missionaries are facing physical challenges, including many of our older ‘folk’ (the Hanmers, the Herbs, the McDonalds, Dave Claar), as well as younger folk (Valerie Gay).  As a group, missionaries face all the powers of evil in often dramatic ways; thus the need for prayer is often equally dramatic.  We covet your prayers for all of the Lord’s servants, and particularly for those mentioned above.  Other than the Lord it is only YOU, your prayers and your support, who keep us going on.

By God’s Grace,

Bruce P. Busch
General Director
