Many countries and regions of our world today restrict the movements of the Gospel by the threat of violating laws and violence of men. Consider the Sentinelese off the coast of Myanmar in the Indian Ocean. The government of Indian prohibits anyone from visiting the island—violation of laws. They do so because, historically, the Sentinelese have promptly murdered any ‘intruder’ in to their territory—violence of men. In 2018, one lone 26-year old would-be missionary tried to go ashore and was promptly speared through and left for dead.
What can you and I do, then, to overcome restrictions which exiles any effort of the Gospel from being spread to regions closed to the Gospel and missionary activity?
P-R-A-Y
Restricted access does not restrict prayer! Prayer needs no permission, passport or approval to penetrate unto the uttermost! As Paul said when he admonished the heathen idolaters of Ancient Athens—“ [God] hath made of one blood all nations of men…that they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, THOUGH HE BE NOT FAR FROM EVERY ONE OF US.” (Acts 17:26-27-Emphasis mine)
God is ever present in the most restricted of nations! No law, language, land, or lineage can band the Lord from being sought by any soul! We have the foundational truth of God’s Word which promises us that the creation of God, the conscience of man, and the Cross of Christ are indeed drawing all kinds of men toward Him. Praying impacts every one of them! Thank you for praying!
