The history of missions has always been a story of answered prayer! God is inclined to move when his children individually or his church cooperatively prays fervently and effectually. From the upper room in Jerusalem (Ac.1:14) to the villages of Samaria (Ac. 8:15); and, from the local church in Antioch (Ac.13:1-3) to a Roman jail cell (Phil.1:4)—God waits on His children to pray!
Have you ever stopped and asked yourself why God choses to act or not to act missionally, partially, due to the prayers of His own servants? God is so infinitely wise and powerful that I would not dare to attempt a comprehensive reply to said question. However, one simple aspect to the answer is that He has a greater invested interest in seeing missions accomplished due to our faith in a way which increases faith. In doing so, when people are saved, and churches are planted they learn that it is because of a humble man’s prayer of faith and not a rich man’s propagation of resources that God chose to move! The result is they realize that they too are equipped to fulfill the Great Commission and see the story of missions continue through them.
The looming question, thus, is this: what changes can you make that will that will increase you praying in faith so as to truly be involved in God’s mission’s narrative? Thank you for praying; thank you for continuing to pray.
Weeping & Rejoicing!
